Elliptical Trainers – The Low-Impact Fitness Revolution
HOOK
Running is tough on your knees, and cycling doesn't always engage your whole body. But what if you could get a full-body, high-intensity workout with zero impact on your joints? That's the promise of the elliptical trainer.
HISTORY / ORIGIN
The story of the modern elliptical trainer began in the 1990s. It was invented by Precor, and their first model, the Elliptical Fitness Crosstrainer (EFX), was released in 1995. Early models were designed primarily for lower body workouts. It wasn't until 1997 that a model exercising both the upper and lower body appeared. The machine quickly became a favorite for its low-impact nature, providing a cardiovascular workout without the jarring effects common to running or stair climbing.
